The book by the politician and British-Irish philosopher Edmund Burke Reflections on the Revolution in France (in English Reflections on the Revolution in France) was published for the first time on 1 November 1790. The author indulges a critique of the French Revolution, which had just begun. The book had considerable influence, especially in conservative and liberal circles; Edmund Burke's arguments were reused parpolitiques claiming communism and later against the proposals of socialism.
